The urgency of this research lies in the need to identify and address the difficulties experienced by students in learning mathematics, especially for those in grade IX at MTs Shifa' Kalipare. Understanding these difficulties is essential for improving the quality of mathematics education and providing targeted interventions to enhance student performance. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors of difficulties experienced by these students in learning mathematics. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Participants in this study were five students and one teacher of MTs Shifa' Kalipare. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the factors causing these students' learning difficulties include: understanding concepts, learning interests, learning motivation, teacher teaching methods, and environmental factors. The researcher only examined several factors from internal and external sources, as not all factors were experienced by the research subjects.
